Description
LSD is Lysergic Acid Diethylamide, a powerful hallucinogenic drug which usually comes in the form of small pills (microdots) or as 'tabs' of impregnated paper.

How it is used
Microdots or tabs containing LSD are swallowed.

Effects
The effects of LSD (a trip) are unpredictable and can last between 5 and 24 hours. LSD powerfully changes perception, with familiar objects or people becoming inexplicably funny or frightening. Effects are influenced by the user's mood, personality, surroundings and expectation.

Physical effects include dilated pupils, increased temperature, heart rate and blood pressure with sweating, loss of appetite dry mouth and tremors.

The Law
LSD is a Class A drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act, with high penalties for its possession and supply.

Risk Reduction
Risks of accidents caused by changed perceptions and feelings of invincibility can be reduced by not using LSD when alone, when feeling low or in unfamiliar surroundings.
